TRENDS IN WINTER WEDDINGS

Winter weddings can be absolutely stunning! Work with the season to create the most elegant and dramatic looks in décor and attire. Here are a few of the latest winter wedding trends:

Wedding Colours:
  • Although they are classics, there is more to life than red and green. Try white, silver, and/or ice blue instead.
Invitations:
  • Use a heavy card stock. Compliment your colour scheme with envelopes lined in silver.

  • Hand calligraphy is definitely in.
Flowers:
  • Red roses, calla lilies, and amaryllis are classic winter wedding flowers. For a vintage feel, try white roses. A soft, romantic look can be achieved with white hydrangeas.

  • Wrap the stems of your bridal bouquet with ribbons. For a touch of the Ritz select ribbons embellished with sequins, beads, or crystals.

  • Boutonnieres are most elegant in white with a touch of greenery.
Bridal Attire:
  • Sleeves are back in vogue thanks to Kate Middleton and they will add a little warmth in the cold winter months.

  • Decorative back are very popular this winter. However, they will call attention to your rear end, so be sure that this is a feature that you want to accentuate.

  • Deep slits have made their way from designer runway wear to bridal wear.

  • Black continues to be in style this winter. Silver, gold, blush, and ice blue are lovely choices as well.

  • Sparkles are in – sequins, crystals, beads, and pearls.

  • Stay warm and stylish in a faux fur or cashmere wrap.
Décor:
  • Winter is the time for ice sculptures which can also be used to jazz up your favourite cocktails - Martinis, Mohitos, or Margueritas.

  • Poinsettias make lovely centrepieces.

  • Uplighting is the latest in creating a warm ambience.
